J. S. Marcus is the author of a collection of stories, The Art of Cartography, published by Knopf in 1991. He is a recipient of the Whiting Writer’s Award. From 1990 to 1994, he lived in Berlin, where he contributed articles about Germany to the New York Times. He now lives in New York City.
