Kate Harris is a Canadian writer with a knack for getting lost. Her first book, Lands of Lost Borders, won the 2019 RBC Taylor Prize recognizing the best of literary non-fiction in Canada and is being translated into several languages. Her essays and journalism have appeared in Outside, The Walrus, and The Georgia Review, among other publications, with citations in Best American Essays and Best American Travel Writing. She received the Ellen Meloy Desert Writers Award in 2012 and the Banff Mountain Book Award for Adventure Travel in 2018. Kate lives off-grid in a log cabin on the border of British Columbia, Alaska, and the Yukon.
