Pierre Péju

Pierre Péju comes from a family of booksellers in Lyon. He studied philosophy at the Sorbonne. He took an active part during the 1968 demonstrations. Since 1971, he has contributed to to various newspapers and magazines. He is a professor at the International Stendahl college in Grenoble, a specialist of German Romanticism, and the author of numerous novels, essays and short-stories. His novel, La Petite Chartreuse, published by Gallimard, received the Prix du Livre in 2003, and will be a French feature film to be released in 2005.
